As emphasized by me earlier in this regard, Librarianship is at cross roads again and again before getting the coveted title of a 'PROFESSION'. An occupation / job scales high to be called as a PROFESSION by catering to the CENTRAL AND CRUCIAL AND INDISPENSABLE needs and REQUIREMENTS of Society, by way of its inevitable knowledge base, service mindedness and there by commanding public RESPECT AND STATUS. ...........
