How original I am when I write and express ........ LbnRaj
How original I am when I write
Whenever I start writing I tend to think that there is
nothing new to write about. I realise that whatever I am going to write is
either written or expressed by some one already. Then I decided not to read any
more so as to avoid duplicating what others write and say. It helped me to some
extent. Later I realise that even when I don’t read …. disregard my past
readings …. I again and again realise that I am unable to write some thing
totally new …. totally of mine. Wow I tend to be write and wrong very often
about my habit of writing and publishing. The thought of plagiarism haunts me
through out.
To me now, human consciousness is only one ….. across
individuals and societies. There can never be a writing by some one totally new and unheard of. It is
just not possible. Every one thinks, every one forms a stand and every one
comes to lifes understandings and learning outcomes. Very few try to express or
write. They don’t write and express does not mean that they don’t have ideas,
original ideas. It is immaterial whether one writes / expresses or not.
So now I realise, come what may, I will continue to write
the way I feel like writing, the way my thoughts and experiences push me to
write. If the same is said and expressed by some one, I will acknowledge the
same thankfully. When I start writing, I now don’t push myself to verify if the
same is being written or expressed by some one some times. Let me continue to
be spontaneous come what may. Let me continue to be proud of myself when my
thoughts are found to be similar to the great thinkers. Let me continue to be
exploring … let me continue to evolve the way I do and think. I am what I am
and I should continue to be what I am. Let me arrive at what I am by thinking
and writing about what I am.

"Unlike the book, the Internet and digitalised reading, at least as they are today, seem more likely to lead to demagogy than to democracy" - Tabish Kair
"At the moment, with the U.S. election over, it seems clear to me that the book was to democracy what the Internet is to demagogy. Perhaps, looking back at the end of this century, if we still retain the ability to look back then, we will realise that the religious fanatics who actually burned books in the 20th century were by far the lesser threat — and not unrelated, in their refusal to engage with the other and to contemplate themselves in the universe, to the larger threat, to the threat that finally emptied our world of depth, colour, significance, and books." - Tabish Khair .... “With the advent of
computers, communications and hand held devices, the idea of Library as a silent Place of Reading is
under constant threat. How can Place of library as a venue of silent reading,
as a venue where books are shelved the way the knowledge flows in highways and
byways, as a venue where you silently meet like minded and unlike minded
readers, as a venue where you feel the past and present writers and thinkers
live together for the current and future readers. As Norman says it is a venue
where history comes to life, present becomes more lively and future comes in so handy a way.” – LbnRaj ; https://www.facebook.com/LbnRaj

On Writing and Reading ......
- Society since times immemorial has continued to place high status and regard to all those who are engaged in Reading and writing and publishing. Un necessarily I (there could be lots of others as well who think this way) keep thinking that I know a lot about reading and writing. After attending Bindu Agrawals workshop (organized by Shishuvan School for Teachers) I once again realize how little I know about reading and writing. She advised participants to get engaged and immersed while reading. I we want kids to get interested in reading we need to engage them sincerely by setting an example. In this regard, what elsewhere matters a lot to the school.
- Other take homes of the workshop : : vocabulary has to do a lot with listening, speaking, reading and writing.
- At the age of 2 a child is familiar with 200 words and when the child is 12 years, it knows 50000 words.
- Shakespeare introduced 1700 new words.

WHILE RETURNING FROM office I resolved to read atleast a couple of pages before I go to bed. ... Ya... finished my dinner... n remembered... that I should read atleast a couple of pages before I retire to sleep.... I felt so much tired to read ... but not to blog, I dont know why n how.
When I got down at Kanjur...I could find processions marking 125 th birth anniversary of the savior of the downtrodden n helpess, Dr BR Ambedkar. Dr Ambedkar is a legend.... a living personification and testimonial of d power of Reading, knowledge and wisdom. What a tremendous personality....n what an example of courage and determination. Worthy of emulation indeed.

Here is a parent who continues to read with her children ..... Mala Balamurugan
"As a generation we are struggling with getting our children to hold a book in their hand, read, explore, think and walk on less traveled paths. We have been looking at ways to get them to leave that notepad, the mobile, the TV aside; even if it was for a little while. Many of us don’t know how to keep them gainfully occupied with something that does not harm them." Mala Balamurugan ...... read further at

JANANI BALAJI A GRADE 5 STUDENT OF SHISHUVAN ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL MUMBAI BAGGED 3RD PLACE IN BOOK REVIEW COMPETITION
JANANI BALAJI A GRADE 5 STUDENT OF SHISHUVAN ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL MUMBAI BAGGED 3RD PLACE IN BOOK REVIEW COMPETITION CONDUCTED BY YOUNG INDIA BOOKS. SHE REVIEWED THE BOOK TITLED, " Apoorva's Fat Diary". Janani congratulations and best wishes.
This is how she started her review, "Is Apoorva’s Fat Diary an Indian retort to the ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ series? A fat girl struggling to survive in a malicious, non-forgiving school world? These were my initial thoughts as I picked this book.
Written by Nandini Nayar and published by Mango Books, this book is indeed a delightful diary of a plump Indian school girl." ..........

A House Without Books
A house without books is like a room without windows. No man has a right to bring up children without surrounding them with books.... Children learn to read being in the presence of books.
