Hearty Congratulations. Kristina Holzweiss of Bay Shore Middle School, Bay Shore, NY, was named School Library Journal School Librarian of the Year in August 2015.

Thank you Charu ( https://in.linkedin.com/in/charumathur ) for keeping us informed on the happenings on School Librarianship globally.
Let me take this opportunity to congratulate heartily Kristina Holzweiss of Bay Shore Middle School, Bay Shore, NY, for having been announced as 'School Library Journal School Librarian of the Year 2015. It is indeed a heart touching story of a Librarian emerged out of a teaching community. Nothing could stop her from serving her readers and users. She deserved it. It is worth reading her story ... dont miss .... here is the link that takes you to her story ..... A wonderful story of a School Librarian .....

Now what about some of the School Librarians who not only dedicated their service of a life time, but contributed substantially towards excellence in School Librarians. it is possible we would have already forgotten a few.
School Libraries by and large to this date remain to be serviced by  one man army. ... had to get discredited for loss of books , get discredited for not allowing students to have their time in selecting books before they are issued, discredited for making children fall in line for either issuing / or returning the books. Best of the LIS graduates who chance upon to become School Librarians ... get realized that they into a trap of non-performance. Mistake is not theirs .... mistake is in the way Education is being handled at School Level. Every School Principal and Promoter wants their Library to be of a State of Art level and continue to desire a perfect democracy and freedom for the kids in their libraries ... would wish their libraries to be a centre of learning. ..... BUT DONT  ADDRESS THE ISSUE OF MANNING THEIR LIBRARIES APPROPRIATELY. Librarian for no fault of his / hers tends to be guilty for things that dont happen in the library and its service. School Librarianship in India needs to be addressed at systemic level. It is time to honour those of the Librarians who have shown outstanding results in spite of all kinds of Limitations. I can mention a few names like S.L.Faisal,Image result for s.l.faisal                                                                          Madhu Bhargava ( https://in.linkedin.com/in/madhu-bhargava-28091b14 ) , Charulatha, Dibakar Mohanty....   etc.... and many more in the making (am sorry for not including many other significant names) who indeed have gone beyond their designations and organizational limits in achieving excellence in School Librarianship.
DAY SHOULD NOT BE TOO FAR .... WHEN AN INDIAN  SCHOOL LIBRARIAN IS ANNOUNCED AS SCHOOL LIBRARIAN OF THE YEAR!
IT IS POSSIBLE. LET US WORK TOGETHER AND LET US GO A MILE EXTRA IN WHATEVER WE DO AS SCHOOL LIBRARIANS.
 BEST WISHES.
