Manners

"If some one forgets all delicacies , and  mannerisms in insulting an elderly person ..... we need to pity such a person. Do what you should do. We cant do any thing more than that - they are destined to suffer a lot in future - come what may." - LbnRaj

Librarians Day - Seminar - 2016, Aug 12 - Report by Mrs Favia Fernandes - Don Bosco High School, Matunga

Librarians Day - Seminar - 2016, Aug 12 - Report by Mrs Favia Fernandes - Don Bosco High School, Matunga
------------------------------
9 Sept, 2016
-Inputs from Ms. Christina Mascaranhes, Mr. Cliffrichard D’Souza & Ms. Flavia Fernandes
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)  – Mrs Christina Mascarenhas
teachersreport-01
The NLP seminar was conducted by The All India Association of Catholic schools (AINACS) from the 5th to 7th August at Cochin. The resource persons were Mr. Arul Subramaniam and Ms Narmada Rao. There were 42 participants in all.
NLP is a powerful training which demonstrates that people have a unique way of thinking and processing information. It helps a person know his/her unconscious patterns and bring them to awareness. Through NLP, one learns to use language in a compelling way, to create rapport instantly, and to use different strategies to motivate different people. It presupposes a spirit of curiosity. It teaches a person to focus on how people say things, and emphasizes that all spoken words should be treated as rumours unless they are substantiated by action.
Through the sessions, the participants were challenged to focus on behaviour, without attaching meaning to it. They were made to think and explore whether they were models of the behaviour they wanted to see in others. Finally they learned to accept the reality that change is the only way forward, since, if they did what they always did, they would get what they always got.
Librarian’s Day cum Seminar on Excellence in School Education – Mrs. FlaviaFernandes
The librarian’s seminar was held on 12th August 2016 at Shishuvan School. The seminar was rich in content – knowledge and experience – as recorded in personal testimonies below:
Rajshekhar Devrai, Senior Librarian, with thirty years experience says that the school librarian is the first person to talk to students about the books; a librarian is a person engaged in collecting, organizing and disseminating information.
Jamila Merchant, Librarian of Shishuvan noted that a Librarian plays an important part in the life of a child. S/he should have a passion for books, should be computer literate and child friendly. As a primary section librarian she tell stories after issuing books according to the child’s ability to read, and assists the child individually if s/he is unable to read. She reiterated the importance of interpersonal skills to help deal with students, teachers and others. To sum up she says a librarian has to be a facilitator and story teller and help to access information to both students and fellow members.
Mr. Premjibhai, the Chairperson expressed his love for reading during his school days. He confessed that even now when he visits his native place in summer he visits his school library and loves to read.  He lamented the fact that today children have moved away from reading because of excess use of internet and mobile phones; and so, we have a challenge to bring them back.
Mr.Rajashekhar Devarai opined that the school library is a school’s physical and digital learning space where reading, inquiry, research, thinking, imagination and creativity that are central to students information take place.
The parents said that it is important for them to motivate the child to read, develop love for books and enlarge child’s world to read. However, they faced a dilemma due to lack of time, a fast paced society and packed schedules, besides a growing tight budget;  hence the school library is a better place for reading.
This session also provided inputs for teachers and librarians into good reading habits as also a reflection into a librarian’s vocation.

Human Errors are seasonal and contextual

"Often Human Errors are seasonal and contextual. As of now there is no error proof individual in society. It is too risky and illogical  to generalize. Of course we all tend to believe some as perfect and error proof." - LbnRaj ; moorunaaku.blogspot.com ;

I commit and dont do ...

"I commit and dont do any thing about it. I succumb to the circumstances and  things that distract and overpower me on and on and again and again. I know, I have n number of reasons for not doing .... not honoring my commitments. Now I realise again that ..... doing and not doing a things depends how badly, sadly and intensely craving for what I should be doing. Loss is mine and no one else can be held responsible for what I dont do. I need to honor myself and commitment, else, I will continue to be doing things that dont want. Let me honour myself before it is too late." - LbnRaj ; moorunaaku.blogspot.com ;

When a person keeps harming you unawares.

4th June 2019 : "When a person is good to you and keeps harming you without his/her knowledge, it is not a harm at all. The best option would be to be at your best come what may. Sooner not later truth is going to prevail and the relation can be scaled to its next level, come what may. " LbnRaj ; Rajashekhar S Devarai.

Music brings tala and laya to life

"Life takes us stages where every thing looks hay-way and haphazard. We tend to think that we have lost direction and purpose. Music has the power to soothe us, order us and bring us back to rhythm, order and flow. Next higher order is to get into silence and meditation which invariably is a source of all music. Embracing music, especially classical music is an easy and untiring route to bliss which all of us crave for often. No need to understand, u just flow with that and make way for losing yourself to ecstasy for some time".

Get motivated effortlessly and naturally

Get motivated effortlessly and naturally
----------------------------------------------------
Getting motivated is by focusing on the grand vision of your life. Getting motivated and de-motivated is as natural as breathing. One has to accept both in a flowing state. One need to naturally tend towards being motivated again and again endlessly. As inhaling and exhaling is necessary for being alive, so is the case with motivated and de-motivated. It has to do a lot with our feeling and attitude. The best way to get motivated is to listen to the enlightened as often and regularly as possible endlessly. One pre-requisite is to take this process naturally and effortlessly. One needs to move from negative to positive naturally, ultimately to rest as often as possible in a state of being and bliss.

I dont want to focus on what went wrong

"I dont want to focus on what went wrong., instead I focus on how would I do better if I happen to confront/face the same situation / same issue again in future. The next moment I am totally on  the here and now moment as I want to be at my best again and again." - LbnRaj ; https://www.facebook.com/LbnRaj

I can always find my passion and my way in whatever I am asked to do......

11th April 2019

What should I be doing now .....
I should continue to do the best in whatever I do. What should I do to be the best in that? I often seem not be qualified to do that is close to my heart, no way further. Should I give up as I am not allowed or not comfortable in doing the thing that is very close to my heart?
I have realised that, I have all the choice to pick up the best from What I am given by the almighty. I f I am not doing what is close to my heart, I can always do the best in whatever comes to me. I have realised that I can always do the things in my most intimate ways. I have given up the idea of doing the best things and the things that are close to my heart. I have oflate decided to find the best I like in whatever I do. Now I am what stand for... though at the outset I may have been doing things that were of not my choice. I have learnt to be what I am in whatever I do.... whether I picked up those things to do or simply I was asked to do those things.

Feb 18, 2019

I can be judged wrong even if I continue to be the best, right and just.
There have been endless occasions when I was right and I was taken to be wrong and illogical, put down by people around. I continue to be right and just come what may. This stand and stubbornness of mine I am sure this  is making me stronger day by day. God bless all around me to get back to the righteous path sooner and not later.

The Indian Library Association was established nine decades back with a vision of furtherance of library movement in India, promotion of training of librarians and improvement of status of librarians. Over the years nine more objectives were added to the vision and mission statement of the ILA. Since inception the Association provided a wide variety of services and programs to its members and also others, who seek technical support or advice. Due to the selfless service rendered by 28 Presidents and their teams, the Association has achieved many milestones.
o Establishing linkages with LIS schools and libraries & industries
o Encouraging publication of books
from LIS professionals
o Organizing Indian Library
Association conferences /seminars according to internationally accepted standards
o Assisting the organizations to develop their library and information centers
o Helping Accreditation bodies to draw effective parameters to accredit LIS schools

The meek, weak and helpless could be harmful and dangerous.

January 24, 2019

The meek, weak and helpless could be harmful and dangerous. The very act of your kindness and complacence could be termed as your weakness. Your being too good may bounce back. You may be branded as having all those traits of a ill person. When repairing a person is beyond your level, dont prod further, leave it, leave it to God. But you be at your best come what may.
