Human nature is unbelievably unique, unpredictable and beyond logic. We develop eccentric levels of passion and attachment with people around us who persistently and consistently continue to trouble and  torture us. AM I PERFECT?

I think I lost my passion for being perfect. I now tend to think that pursuing perfection is not that appealing an option. Pursuing Excellence seems to be more  inclined towards natures abundance. I need to accept my flaws .....

I continue to get embarrassed when some one tells me that I am a late comer, i am careless and that I am rude. I really dont understand as to why I should get annoyed and embarrassed when people tell the truth about me ... I know that people are very often true when they say things about me. Am I continuing to be with a made up self .... a self away from true self. What do I really want from life and people? ... Should they tell lies about me and please me. When do I come out of this duality about me and myself?
It is late but impossible to change myself. I should learn to accept the reality .... accept my real self .... accept the fact that I need to be perfect. That I should continue to have a perfect understand about my imperfections.

“Very often I run out of time for things. I run out of time in meeting, out of time to complete my assignments, out of time to read, out of time to think and meditate, out of time to give quality time for my family. I realise I run out of time consistently. I kept on thinking for years that there is something wrong somewhere …. and I kept ridiculing myself for that. Oflate I started thinking as to why run of time and for what reasons …. I got my answers and continue to get answers …. I run out of time because I continue to get  engaged in some thing other than what is apparent and simple. I realised, I kept doing so many things that were and are more dearer to me than what I was actually supposed to be doing. WHAT IF I KEEP DOING THE SAME THINGS THAT ARE DEARER TO ME …. AND WORK AND ASSIGNMENT BECOMES LIVELY AND LONGED FOR!

Often I get so much disappointed and unhappy as I am not successful yet to express my gratitude, either thank them or help them in some or the other way! “I get engrossed in my thoughts often …. I start from analysing my thoughts for endless hours …. I arrive at great heights of my thinking. And at those heights and depths of my thinking I realise my thoughts to be no less compared to Basava, Gandhi, Lenin, Marx and Comte. In those moments I realise that my thoughts and theories are no less in quality and intensity. But then some where I get lost. I fail to connect, I fail to simplify, I fail to condense. Then I erroneously start believing that my thoughts may not be that great. But often my  real me tells me that I am no less. Minutes and hours and days pass by …. and I re-assert my self …. that my thoughts are indeed great …. How original I am when I write

Whenever I start writing I tend to think that there is nothing new to write about. I realise that whatever I am going to write is either written or expressed by some one already. Then I decided not to read any more so as to avoid duplicating what others write and say. It helped me to some extent. Later I realise that even when I don’t read …. disregard my past readings …. I again and again realise that I am unable to write some thing totally new …. totally of mine. Wow I tend to be write and wrong very often about my habit of writing and publishing. The thought of plagiarism haunts me through out.

To me now, human consciousness is only one ….. across individuals and societies. There can never be  a writing  by some one totally new and unheard of. It is just not possible. Every one thinks, every one forms a stand and every one comes to lifes understandings and learning outcomes. Very few try to express or write. They don’t write and express does not mean that they don’t have ideas, original ideas. It is immaterial whether one writes / expresses or not.

So now I realise, come what may, I will continue to write the way I feel like writing, the way my thoughts and experiences push me to write. If the same is said and expressed by some one, I will acknowledge the same thankfully. When I start writing, I now don’t push myself to verify if the same is being written or expressed by some one some times. Let me continue to be spontaneous come what may. Let me continue to be proud of myself when my thoughts are found to be similar to the great thinkers. Let me continue to be exploring … let me continue to evolve the way I do and think. I am what I am and I should continue to be what I am. Let me arrive at what I am by thinking and writing about what I am.

I always want to do the things the way I want and wish. Things happen the way I want but not every time. Suddenly I realise that I have been doing things that I am asked to do, the things that either my seniors or friends or well wishers decide. I start coping up, as I cannot survive without doing those things. I strive to those things to the best of my ability and competence and I do get appreciation and compliments some times. I get momentary happiness as people around get happier and delightful. But from the heart of my heart I am not so happy, I am not so delighted. This is because I was not involved from the heart of my heart. And hence I dont pat my self for these accomplishments. But why, why does things happen this way. Why I end up doing things the way they come to me? Why I fail to do the things the way I wanted?
Ya it is time to introspect, it is time to have control over myself and my gut feelings. Come what may I need to do things, but in my way, in my style.... that please me, that gratify me. For existence and survival I need to do things, but the way the things are done is upto me.
I NEED TO PLAN, I NEED TO PRIORITIZE, I NEED TO FIND MY SPACE FOR BREATHING IN WHATEVER I DO AND THINK.
I NEED TO GIVE MORE THAN  THE MUNDANE REQUIREMENT. I NEED TO MEDITATE, I NEED TO DISCOVER AND PROMOTE MY INNER UNLIMITED POWERS.
YES IT IS TIME TO INTROSPECT, THIS IS THE TIME I NEED TO REAFFIRM THAT I AM NO LESS. I CAN DO THE BEST, COME WHAT MAY.

Life as I engage myself in turns out to be more mysterious than I have ever imagined. As I understand, for me it is an interplay of patterns and non patterns... an interplay of known and unknown.... an interplay of known present and the unknown present. When I think I know a lot I am made to believe that I hardly know any thing.... When I think I dont know any thing ... I am made to know that I know a lot. When I thought I was too unhappy .... I found contentment in and around the same unhappy thing.... same unpleasant..... So difficult to make out the hard line between being happy and being unhappy..... being content and being discontent. Wow .... I think this is one of my great learning. Many more such realizations to come and engage me. I like it!

Celebration of Librarians is one of the Annual Events at Shishuvan. This is the  second successive year of celebration of this event. Shishuvan School Matunga,  Mumbai,  celebrated Librarians Day  on 12th August 2017  in honor of 125th birth anniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan (widely known as Father of Library Science in India). The celebrations  were marked with a Seminar on “Excellence in School Librarianship through Best Practices – role of Teachers, Students, Parents, Librarians and others”.

This time the objective of the Seminar was on  Excellence in School Library Practices Vis a vis Best Practices. Democratic and Open School Philosophy of Shishuvan is maintained in Library Seminar by involving and addressing Parents, Teachers, Students, Librarians and others. Presentations were made, lectures were delivered by Teachers, Parents, Students and Librarians and others. The participants comprised of  students ,teachers, parents, librarians. Seminar stood out to  be unique as it involved major  stakeholders of school library service. The result was an useful gain and share  knowledge from each of the presenters and participants.  Organizers reasserted and re-assured  their approach to involve all stake holders in the forth coming events/activities. It was appreciated by one  and all and specially by the guest speakers and presenters.  Shishuvans commitment to School Library Service was amply visible in the deliberations of its teachers, students, parents and Library Staff.

Soon after the Lighting of the Lamp Ceremony, Mrs Shubadra Shenoy Principal of the School gave her welcome address. She emphasized on the role of Libraries  in Schools. She emphasized that libraries and their services are integral to Shishuvan and its academics from KG to Class X. She advised participants to be proactive and support actively in the Teaching Learning process.

Mr.Rajashekhar Devarai, Chief Librarian, in his introductory remarks emphasized on the importance of celebrating Librarians Day,  briefed the audience on the relevance of the Librarians Day in a School and dealt in  brief about the theme of the Seminar centering around the concepts like : School Libraries, Librarians, Excellence and Best Practices.

Mrs. Heeru Bhojwani (Information Curator and Coach – American School of Bombay), Mrs.Suhas Dave (Head Librarian – Gundecha Education Academy), Mrs Sangeeta Bhansali (Director – Kahani Tree), Mrs.Prashanti Ghadigaonkar / Geetmala S (Faculty Members – Muktangan) were the Core presenters. Mrs. Jamila Merchant, Mrs.Shraddha Tiwarekar, Mrs.Prajakta Bhandare, Shraddha Goyal and Mrs.Archana Balaji , Class VIII students Disha and Mihir presented / deliberated on behalf of Shishuvan. Kabir Class Student activated / energized the group with a timely break.

Highlight of the event was the Question Answer / Discussion Session moderated effectively by Preeti Santosh Malavade, Librarian of Vibgyor High Borivali. Questions were invited for all the presenters one by one. Various issues and concenrns were addressed. During the session Mrs Shamim Padamsee shared her ideas on Indian authors, Indian Books and Reading Events. She also briefed on the ongoing Leading Reading Schools of India Awards. Mrs.Namita Talreja Vice Principal gave presidential remarks. Mrs.Jamila Merchant thanked every one responsible for the success of the Event / Seminar.

Functional and state of art Libraries  are back bones of successful schooling according to IFLA/UNISCO School Library Manifesto (1995), “ School library globally are envisioned as a force for the  enchantment and improvement of Teaching and Learning through out the School Community for Educators as well as Students .”

The theme of the Seminar was well appreciated by every one. The major take away of the Seminar :

1. Libraries can and should play important role in the Teaching / Learning Process.
2. Librarians need to adopt professional approach and be professional in works and activities.
3. Teachers, Students, Parents and others can contribute and impact effectively and appropriately to achieve excellence in school library service.
